Easter’s a great time to spend some quality patio-time with family and friends. It’s the last long weekend before the cooler weather sets in. It’s four whole days, and there’s always lashing of chocolate! Here are five of our favourite things to do on the patio over Easter.
1. Easter Egg Hunt
Kids (and kids at heart) are sure to love an Easter egg hunt. Just make sure you keep a list of how many eggs you’ve hidden and where – if not you could be discovering eggs about your patio for weeks!
2. An Easter (Meat-Free) BBQ
It’s traditional not to eat meat on Good Friday, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a cracking BBQ. Simply swap sausages and steak for your favourite fish, calamari and prawns. Complete with fresh salads and drinks.
3. Easter Egg Painting
Before your Easter egg hunt, try painting your boiled eggs. A little arts and craft can give your eggs a real creative twist. We like to use watercolour paints, but you can use dye, glue and knick-knacks or something completely different!
4. Watch the Game with Friends
This Good Friday the Brisbane Broncos will be playing the Gold Coast Titans. So why not drag the TV or radio outside, get some mates together and enjoy the game on the patio. Make sure you grab some nibbles and snacks too.
5. Patio D.I.Y. Project
Because it’s an extra long weekend, Easter is a great time to start and finish a home D.I.Y. project. Most hardware stores carry a great range of projects, including things like potted herb gardens, outdoor furniture and play equipment.
