How long does the entire construction process take?
The full process typically takes between four and eight weeks from quote to build, provided there are no delays with council approvals or manufacturing.
In some cases, your carport may require council relaxation approval. This is not always needed, but when it is, the process can extend up to twelve weeks. We will let you know early if this applies so there are no surprises.
The process from start to finish includes: quote, sign up, check measure, council approval, order and manufacturing, build, and final sign off by certifiers.
What is the process for obtaining council approvals, and how are delays handled?
After your check measure is complete, your plans are sent to you for review and signing. Once approved, they are submitted to the certifiers for council approval.
If relaxation approval is required, this can add time to the process. While not always necessary, approvals can take up to twelve weeks. We will flag this early if it applies to your project.
Delays can sometimes occur if mains, sewers, stormwater or easements need to be located. If this information is unclear, the certifier will usually identify it, and we may need to revisit the site for additional measurements or engage a plumber to locate services.
Our office maintains regular contact with the certifiers so any issues can be addressed quickly to minimise further delays.
